Update: Images from south Reno fireworks have been added.

Three fireworks shows filled the skies over Reno and Sparks this Fourth of July. Meanwhile Truckee Meadows Fire responded to six brush fires in the area.

The long-standing Star Spangled Sparks fireworks show, which launches from the roof of The Nugget hotel and casino in downtown Sparks, once again took center stage for the night. A second fireworks show followed the final inning of the Reno Aces’ game vs. the Sacramento River Cats at Greater Nevada Field in downtown Reno. The third fireworks show launched from southeast Reno in the Damonte Ranch area.

The six brush fires were all put out quickly and mopped up by Truckee Meadows Fire. While causes of the fires haven’t been noted, the fire agency said via Twitter, “We appreciate the vigilance and cooperation of citizens not setting off fireworks.” ThisisReno photographer captured images from one of the fires that burned in an area southwest of the intersection of Sutro and McCarran near Camelia Drive.
