The Alliance with the Washoe County Medical Society hosted the first-ever “Miracle in March” Gala on March 3, 2018 to benefit Ridge House in the prevention and treatment of opioid addiction. Funds were raised by the event through both a live and silent auction.

On March 27 at 9 a.m., AWCMS hosted a check presentation event at the Washoe County Medical Society office. The check was presented to the Executive Director of Ridge House, Denise Everett. Ridge House was chosen as the beneficiary because of the organization’s programs for rehabilitation.

“We are breaking the patterns of addiction by helping individuals to help themselves, and when they do, they change the lives of generations to come,” Everett said.

AWCMS is a volunteer, non-profit organization.

“This event was attended and supported by the same people who already spend most of their waking hours caring for others. It’s just another way to show how generous and truly compassionate our community is,” said Carole Hess, AWCMS co-president and gala committee member.
