New Assignments Announced for Upcoming School Year

The Washoe County School District has announced new staff assignments for the upcoming school year:

  • Debra Biersdorff, who currently serves as area superintendent for the Acceleration Zone, has been named chief academic officer.
  • Lauren Ford, who currently serves as principal at Hug High School, has been named an area superintendent.
  • Joe Ernst, who currently serves as principal at Anderson Elementary School, has been named an area superintendent.
  • Samantha Shoolroy, who currently serves as assistant principal at Stead Elementary School, has been named principal of Grace Warner Elementary School.
  • Michael Lansing, who currently serves as principal of Bluff Elementary School in Claremont, NH, has been named principal of Lemmon Valley Elementary School.
  • Cristina Oronoz, who currently serves as principal of Global Community High School in Las Vegas, has been named principal of Hug High School.
  • April Carroll, who currently serves as assistant principal of Lincoln Park Elementary School, has been named assistant principal of Sun Valley Elementary School.
  • Kellie Scott Oliver, who currently serves as assistant principal of Donner Springs and Moss elementary schools, has been named assistant principal of Stead Elementary School.
  • Richard Mares, who currently serves as assistant principal at Mitchell Elementary School, has been named a Title I accountability and parental involvement specialist.
  • Jason Shipman, who currently serves as assistant principal at Anderson Elementary School, has been named assistant principal of Alyce Taylor Elementary School.
  • Andrew Yoxsimer, who currently serves as site administrator at Incline High School, has been named principal of Incline High School.
  • Michael Martindale, who currently serves as assistant principal of O’Brien Middle School, has been named principal of Anderson Elementary School.
  • Kate Austill, who currently serves as assistant principal at Spanish Springs Elementary School, has been named principal of Alyce Taylor Elementary School.
  • Matthew MacKay, who currently serves as CTE curriculum and instruction specialist, has been named assistant principal of McQueen High School.
  • David Kitchin, who currently serves as principal at The American School Foundation, A.C. in Mexico City, Mexico, has been named assistant principal of Spanish Springs High School.
  • Jason Mattick, who currently serves as dean of Clayton Middle School, has been named assistant principal of Cold Springs Middle School.
  • Amanda Stulock, who currently serves as dean of Brown Elementary School, has been named assistant principal of Brown Elementary School.
  • Joshua Hartzog, who currently serves as assistant principal at McQueen High School, has been named assistant principal of AACT High School.
  • Theresa Salgado, who currently serves as dean at Reed High School, has been named assistant principal of Double Diamond Elementary School.
  • Marcus Culpepper, who currently serves as dean at Swope Middle School, has been named assistant principal of Galena High School.
  • Brynn Harlan, who currently serves as an implementation specialist in Special Education, has been named assistant principal of Donner Springs/Moss Elementary schools.
  • Freeman Holbrook, who currently serves as assistant principal at Galena High School, has been named assistant principal of Damonte Ranch High School.

During summer, the school district will continue to fill open positions in schools and offices.
