The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) announces Quality bicycle Products (QBP) will open a new distribution center in Reno, this December. QBP is an international wholesale distributor of bicycle parts and outdoor gear.

“It’s with great excitement that we welcome yet another distribution center to north Reno,” said Paul McKenzie, Reno City Council Member and representative of Ward 4, where the new center will be located. “Not only does it create vital jobs in our region, it supports the Reno City Council’s mission of promoting a healthier community.”

The new distribution center expects to fill up to 50 positions, including warehouse, customer service and sales related positions. The distribution center, located on Lear Boulevard, is 75,000 square feet and located for expansion of QBP’s one-day delivery service to retailers in California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Arizona, Oregon and Washington.

“Offering an expanded level of service to our western U.S. dealers is a huge step forward in our ongoing commitment to serving the local bike shop,” said QBP’s president, Rich Tauer.

QBP will be partnering with OnTrac, a local delivery service provider in Reno, for their overnight ground services. Additionally, OnTrac was instrumental in QBP’s decision to move to Reno by aiding in the connection with EDAWN.

“As the popularity of cycling continues to grow globally and locally here in Reno, what better place to establish this new distribution center than in our own backyard where thousands of cyclists call home,” said Mike Kazmierski, President and CEO of EDAWN. “We want to thank Quality Bicycle Products in their decision to make Northern Nevada their new home.”
