uber-700x300-2554148-6935536For those who have been waiting, and according to Uber, that’s a whole lot of you, the company announced just this hour that it is open for business in Reno.

According to Uber:

After seeing thousands of people open the Uber app, we are excited to make the Biggest Little announcement:  we’ve arrived in Reno.

So, if you’re headed out to cheer on the Wolf Pack or just want to make a night out safer and more enjoyable, we have got you covered. All you need to do is download the Uber app and just pinpoint your location whenever you are ready to go out. A driver will be ready to pick you up within minutes. You can track the exact location of the driver, get important information about the car and even share your whereabouts with anyone who wants to know where you are on your trip.

Sample fairs in the Biggest Little City were posted on the company’s website today.

From Midtown to UNR, expect to pay from $7-9. From UNR to the airport, the fee is estimated at $10 to $13.

Skiing at Mt. Rose? That will be $58 to $77 from downtown. Split that up with friends, and you have an affordable trip to the slopes this winter.

On Monday, the Nevada Transportation Authority approved licenses for Uber and Lyft to operate in Nevada. It’s not yet clear if Uber is in fact accepting rides as of today, but that’s what this announcement states.

An Uber spokesperson confirmed that that it is accepting rides in Reno.

“Yesterday, we were officially permitted to operate by the State of Nevada by the Nevada Transportation Authority, and now we are live,” said Uber’s Taylor Patterson. “We are excited to be a part of the Nevada community and to offer another option for people from Henderson to North Las Vegas to Reno to connect with a safe, reliable, convenient ride at the touch of a button.”

Those looking to be an Uber drive, the company is still accepting applications. Click here: https://get.uber.com/drive/?utm_source=digital_advertising&utm_campaign=Channel_1_248_US-reno_D_all_ACQ_RENORiderBlogPost_2501
