Reno Police Detective and Nevada Guardsman Zachary Doser was pinned today as a brigadier general during a ceremony in Carson City.

“I am very grateful,” said Doser, 51, who also became the Nevada Army National Guard’s assistant adjutant general today. “I just want to thank the Nevada National Guard and the City of Reno for the opportunities they’ve provided me throughout my career.”

Doser is a three-decade veteran of the U.S. Army and 16-year veteran of the Nevada Army National Guard. He has been with the Reno Police Department since 1998 and became detective in 2005.

“I’ve had the opportunity to observe Col. Doser over the years,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “I’ve always had a great deal of admiration and respect for the way he has conducted himself.”

Doser has a bachelor’s degree in physical geography from the University of Nevada, Reno.
