rotary-award-nicole-hicks-700x453-2903338-9289692Washoe County Deputy District Attorney, Nicole Hicks, received recognition for her prosecuting work and children’s advocacy by the Rotary Club of Reno, which awarded her  “Law Enforcement Professional of the Month” at the club’s August 17th meeting.

During her ten-year stint serving the DA’s Office, Deputy District Attorney Hicks began in the Child Protective Services Unit, then moved into the criminal division and is currently a member of the Major Violators Unit. In 2013, she led the development of the Child Advocacy Center (CAC), to serve children that have been the victims of crime.

“The District Attorney’s Office is grateful for Rotary’s recognition of Nicole’s unique service to our community, and law enforcement.  Her sensitivity and zeal for children led to the creation of the Child Advocacy Center and she continues to be a formidable advocate for an often silent and under-served victim,” said Assistant District Attorney Bruce Hahn.
