RTC Investigating Recent Bus Vandalism

Date:

The Regional Transportation Commission’s (RTC) fleet has undergone some vandalism in recent weeks. In the last month, 17 windows on various buses have been shot out, causing more than $20,000 in damage, excluding labor to make the repairs. The windows were always shot out when the buses were occupied, but no passengers sustained injuries during the incidents.

Three separate incidents occurred July 22: 4th Street and Elko Avenue, Greenbrae Drive and Sullivan Lane, and Greenbrae Drive and Orvada Street. Nearly all of the incidents have occurred at night, on routes 11 and 2 in Sparks and Reno.
