Regional Shooting Range Now Open on Holidays

Date:

gun-154480_640-300x254-9365409-6743020The Washoe County Regional Shooting Range will now be open for holidays as part of ongoing efforts to keep target shooters from practicing in the hills. The range is open Friday through Monday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to stay over a hundred degrees, continuing to increase the danger of fire hazards in the region. Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Chief Charles Moore believe the decision to open the range on holidays will provide target shooters with a safe alternative.

Sheriff Allen and Chief Moore encourage recreational shooters to take advantage of this opportunity to help reduce the potential for fire hazards.

The County’s Regional Shooting Facility is located north of Spanish Springs at 21555 Pyramid Highway. The facility has six ranges for public use. Scopes, ear protection and targets are available for nominal fees.
