At 10:20 a.m. on July 18 officers responded to a report of domestic violence in the 2000 block of Centennial Way. The victim was Angelica Hood who, despite treatment, succumbed to her injuries. Dempsey Hood was arrested in Sun Valley for battery causing substantial bodily harm, domestic battery, assault on a protected person, duty to stop at an accident, reckless driving, and resisting a public officer. He was ultimately charged with open murder.

Investigators are trying to solve a 33 year old cold case murder and are seeking the public’s help. Officers believe the victim’s disappearance in 1982 was never reported because of her estrangement from family and friends. Officers hope sharing the case on social media will provide clues that will lead to the closure of this case.
