Register now and experience miles and smiles Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Edible Pedal 100®. This century road bike ride featuring great food, three ride distances and the beauty of northern Nevada as its back drop, is the Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise annual fund raising event.

Riders depart and finish at beautiful Bowers Mansion Regional Park in Washoe Valley. “We invite all types of riders to join us. It’s our goal to raise funds, promote healthy lifestyle choices for kids and adults and share our motto,” Mark Kattelman, Ride Director said.

The Edible Pedal 100® motto: Ride Hard. Eat Well. Give Back.

Ride Hard. The Edible Pedal 100® offers three ride distances. Something for everyone:

100-mile Course: The recreational yet challenging Century Course will provide roadies a solid challenge which features a climb up Kingsbury Grade from Carson City to Lake Tahoe.

50-mile Course: Those interested in a respectable ride will like the 50-mile course that includes scenic country roads through rustic towns.

10-mile Course: Families with young children are encouraged to enjoy a leisurely out and back 10-mile route through picturesque Washoe Valley.

Eat Well. Participants will enjoy mouthwatering food and drink sourced by local farmers, ranchers vintners, brewers, bakers and other food artisans at the post ride barbecue. Ride stops staffed by culinary arts teachers and students in historic Carson City, Genoa, Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit, feature treats created by the students.

Give Back. Edible Pedal 100® raises funds to benefit both Northern Nevada and the International community. Past beneficiaries have included: scholarships to local Culinary Arts and Science students, Urban Roots Gardening Projects, Boy Scout Troops, Reno Bike Project, Carson City 4-H, TAMBA and the Lyon County Search & Rescue. Funds also support efforts to eradicate polio by supporting Rotary International’s Polio Plus program.

Registration fee includes: Challenging yet recreational courses, fully equipped ride stops, SAG, reusable water bottle, cool swag bag, post ride BBQ/beverage ticket, priceless views, camaraderie and an unbeatable sense of accomplishment.
