Reno Councilwoman Makes Breast Cancer Statement

Date:

Neoma Jardon

Neoma Jardon, Reno City Councilwoman, has made her recent breast cancer diagnosis public knowledge. Jordan has said initial tests show the cancer is in the early stages and absolutely treatable.

“With early detection, an expert medical team, and the support of my loving husband, family, and friends, I fully intend to continue performing my City Council responsibilities,” Jardon said. “Albeit, I will do so at a reduced level as I undergo treatment. These are exciting times for The Biggest Little City, and I am confident I will be back helping serve at full capacity very soon.”

Jardon was elected to the Reno City Council in 2012. She represents Ward 5, an area of northwest Reno that includes the Old Northwest, University of Nevada, the Somersett and Verdi neighborhoods, and parts of downtown Reno. She also serves on a number of boards, including the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority, Truckee Meadows Water Authority, and District Board of Health.

Also of us at This Is Reno are keeping Jardon in our thoughts.
