A public relations cooperative with five partners is now broadcasting Northern Nevada’s successes to regional and national audiences.
The Regional Outreach Co-Op was formed by a partnership between the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, the City of Reno, the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority and the University of Nevada, Reno.
The co-op will promote economic, tourism, education and entrepreneurship stories through public relations campaigns. The co-op launched in February and has facilitated a journalist’s inquiry that resulted in an article on Northern Nevada in Bloomberg Business, titled “Reno finds second chance in artists, entrepreneurs and Silicon Valley transplants,” and in the Las Vegas Review-Journal under the title “Climbing Back.”
The Regional Outreach Co-Op will execute a year-long national media relations campaign to highlight the region’s most positive stories, little-known successes, and trending topics to position the region as a leader in technological investment, business growth and economic opportunity. The co-op is currently working with top-tier national journalists on in-depth stories about Northern Nevada.
The Abbi Agency will handle media relations initiatives for the co-op.
