Community Development Director Fred Turnier announced today his resignation from the City of Reno. His resignation is effective May 28, 2015.
“The City employees and elected officials who have had the honor of working with Fred thank him for his years of service to our community,” said Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger. “Fred has helped guide us during a time of tremendous growth in Reno.”
Turnier has served as the Community Development Director since May 2012.
“I’ve enjoyed helping people develop their property or start a new business,” Turnier said. “I want to continue using my 20-plus years of public and private sector experience, as well as my vast knowledge of local and state regulations, to help build a new Reno.”
He came to the city after serving as the interim city manager and as the community and economic development director for the City of Fernley.
Turnier was also a planning director for the City of Reno from 2003 to 2005.
