PHOTO GALLERY: Winey Munkies Host Wine Ice Cream Tasting

Date:

Winey Munkies is the latest startup to spring out of the Reno revival, offering a product that seeks to appeal to both winos and foodies alike: ice cream and sorbet made with wine. With an alcoholic content sitting at around 5 percent, this is not a treat for children but for the childish adult who still wants to have a little fun and novel way to imbibe.

At Winey Munkies’ first taste testing held at the NoVi Lounge of the Eldorado, they served guests their initial offerings: Chocolate Merlot, Peach Chardonnay, Strawberry Pinot and Raspberry Cabernet. The guests were plentiful and seemed plenty happy with what they received.

Winey Munkies is the brainchild of Brian Cooper and sisters Nichole and Danielle Munk. Winey Munkies will initially be offering their niche services for community events and catering through their ice cream truck. You can next find them at Earth Day at Idlewild Park on April 26, 2015.

When Emmett isn't interviewing people in his too-loud, New Yorker style of brain-picking, he is pushing veggies on addictive personalities at a farmer's market, doing odd forms of calisthenics, researching how to live to be 300, or chipping away glacially at his first novel. He also enjoys hot sauce, comic books, and living outside the box as a militantly liberal social progressive (insert other synonym here) that still thinks guns are cool and plans lackadaisically for the apocalypse by learning survival skills (read: home economics). He also dabbles in martial arts and nude portrait drawing. Volunteer models are welcome. He thinks third person mini bios are fun. He wrote this.
