New York-based artist Scott Cohen is visiting 13 schools across Washoe County to distribute art supplies to students as part of a downtown Life Cube installation.

Cohen’s the Life Cube Project is an interactive art installation that encourages community members to express their aspirations.

Students will receive blank canvases and tags to write down their wishes. These materials will then be attached to the Life Cube and displayed during the Reno Sculpture Fest downtown May 8-10, 2015.

The first Life Cube was erected in 2011 at the annual Burning Man festival. Cohen in 2014 was invited by the Downtown Project to install a Life Cube in downtown Las Vegas. Artists and community members covered the entire cube with paintings and wishes.

Over time, the Life Cube became an ever-changing and evolving community canvas.
