Free microchipping is available to all Washoe County pet owners. In an effort to make sure owners have a chance to get their pets microchipped, Washoe County Regional Animal Services is offering free microchipping Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Petco on 2970 Northtowne Lane from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Animal Services has seen its return to owner rate in Washoe County increase 30 percent the past two years due to microchips. A grant provided by Maddie’s Fund has covered the costs of the microchips.
