Circus Circus Reno announced today that it has always offered commitment ceremonies, but is now offering same sex marriages after the court ruling in Nevada. Kathy Baldock is the ordained minister to preside over these weddings.
“We already offered commitment ceremonies for same sex couples before the legislation was passed,” said Andrea Beede, catering and special events manager for Circus Circus. “Now that it is legal, we can offer wedding ceremonies as well. Including Kathy Baldock as the minister for these marriages was an amazing connection.”
Kathy Baldock is an ordained minister as well as an advocate to the LGBT community for equality and inclusion in Christian churches. Her first wedding is scheduled for March 28. Circus Circus anticipates more to come.
“I want to bless people who have been denied this right for so long,” said Baldock. “It’s like a gift. They are now able to be married and I want to give that to them. I want to stand with people and unite them together. It thrills me when I get to offer this liberty to others.”
