Reno Philharmonic names new marketing director

ldanaher-231x300-3018905-9430311Linda Danaher recently joined the Reno Philharmonic Association as marketing director. Danaher is an experienced marketing professional, owning her own successful company, Danaher Design, LLC, since 2003.

A graduate of Parsons, The New School for Design, Danaher has worked in high-profile positions such as Senior Art Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in New York, as well working with organizations such as Avis, American Parkinson Disease Association, and Snug Harbor Cultural Center.

“We are excited and honored to have Linda join our team,” Tim Young, president and CEO of the Reno Philharmonic Association, said. “Her marketing expertise is going to be an asset to the Reno Philharmonic Association, especially as we transition into a new season and new marketing initiatives.”

Danaher is responsible for all Reno Philharmonic Association marketing programs including advertising, website, programs and more.

The Reno Philharmonic is northern Nevada’s largest performing arts organization. Beginning its 46th season, the orchestra, led by music director Laura Jackson, is comprised of more than 80 professional musicians who perform more than 30 concerts annually throughout the Reno, Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe region. Musicians of the professional orchestra, youth orchestras, various ensembles and education programs offer more than 60 performances each year, playing to more than 50,000 people. The flagship of the Reno Philharmonic concert offering is a six-concert classical music series, Classix, performed on Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.

She has a bachelor’s degree in American history, with a minor in American Indian studies, from San Francisco State University, and has a master’s degree in public administration from Sonoma State University. She enjoys training a variety of martial arts.
