Celebration of love and family through food

come-see-sparks-fly-book-cover-lg-300x240-7296466-8055209A celebration of love, charity, and delicious food happens Saturday, February 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., when Jennifer (Bushman) and Darrell Rodriguez sign their new cookbook, Come See Sparks Fly. All of the proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The reading takes place at Sundance Books and Music, 121 California Avenue, in Reno.

Written by Jennifer (Bushman) and Darrell Rodriguez, Come See Sparks Fly is a celebration of love and family through food. Recipes featured in the book include special dishes served at Jennifer and Darrell’s wedding in December 2013, as well as some of Jennifer’s personal recipes—including her famous chocolate chip cookies.

Beautifully photographed with easy-to-follow recipes, this cookbook will be a welcome addition to the cookbook collection of anyone who enjoys entertaining.

Jennifer (Bushman) Rodriguez is a Northern Nevada native and is nationally recognized as one of the food and lifestyle industry’s respected communicators, teachers and strategists.

Jennifer co-authored the best-selling Kitchen Coach cookbook series and has been recognized with nominations by the James Beard Foundation and the International Association of Culinary Professionals as one of our nation’s top culinary communicators and teachers.

Darrell Rodriguez has nearly twenty years of experience as an interactive and entertainment media executive. He has brought his acumen for efficient, results-driven production and business strategies to some of the biggest creative enterprises in the video gaming industry.

Darrell has been chief creative officer at International Game Technology, the world’s largest creator of casino games, president of LucasArts, chief operating officer of EA Los Angeles and assistant chief operating officer of EA Canada. He is currently chief executive officer for Trendy Entertainment. A wonderful writer and photographer, this is his first collaborative effort on a cookbook.

Miriam Hodgman is originally from San Francisco. She previously was the communications coordinator for the largest hunger-relief organization in Sonoma County, California. She has a bachelor’s degree in American history, with a minor in American Indian studies, from San Francisco State University, and has a master’s degree in public administration from Sonoma State University. She enjoys training a variety of martial arts.
