December 20

— Officers and REMSA responded to a call from Aguita’s Bar, 1825 Prater Way, after receiving a report that a man was unconscious after getting into a fight. The fight had apparently taken place 90 minutes before help arrived and the suspect had been escorted from the property. The victim was left and his condition deteriorated quickly — he was transported to Renown for unknown injuries. So far, no arrests have been made.

December 21

— An armed robbery occurred at JJ Sports and Spirits, 950 Holman Way. It was reported that two African-American males, with faces covered, held the bar and its patrons/employees at gunpoint before escaping with an unknown amount of cash. There were no injuries. The suspects have not been apprehended yet.

— There was a residential robbery/BDW on Bravo Avenue. The suspect broke down the victim’s door, punching him with brass knuckles before fleeing. The suspect has been identified but is still outstanding.

— An arrest was made for battery on a police officer/assault/MIC on Cornwall Circle. A juvenile suspect was arrested.

— A robbery on North Silverada Boulevard took place. The suspects entered, threatened an employee, and removed cash from the register. The suspects are described as two unknown race males wearing hoodies.

— An arrest was made for vehicle burglary/MIC on Sapphire Ridge Way. Officers responded to the report just as the suspect was fleeing in his own vehicle. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and make contact with the suspects. Kalaneti Peni and Quinton Figueroa were arrested for vehicle burglary, accessory to burglary, and MIC.

December 22

— Sparks police responded to an armed robbery at Heritage Bank, 330 Los Altos Parkway. The victim reported that her money, car, and other valuables had been taken by an unidentified male adult. While the victim was waiting in the drive through, the suspect got in the passenger side of the car and ordered the woman out of the vehicle. The suspect fled southbound on Galleria Parkway. The suspect has not been arrested. The car is a black 2001 Audi sedan with license plate 635LEW.

— An arrest was made on charges of O&R/soliciting at Virginia and I580. Officers made contact with a subject who was soliciting; the suspect became verbally aggressive, resisting arrest. Robert Hester was arrested on the named charges.

— An arrest was made on charges of BDW/machete on Kietzke Lane. In this case, the victim made contact with the suspect who he said had trespassed on the property. The suspect produced a machete and made contact with the victim. Injuries to the victim were non life-threatening. Edward Behl was arrested for the named charges.

— Ramona Vargas was arrested on child abuse charges on Gypsum Road.

December 23

— 24-year-old Kevin Lynch was reported missing from his Sun Valley home. Although 24, Lynch’s family said he has the mental capacity of an 11-year-old. He was last seen Monday, December 22. UPDATE: Kevin was found, safe and sound, in the late afternoon hours of December 23.

— Blake Mason and Daniel Silva were arrested on charges of domestic battery on Talus Way.

— There was a report of BDW/vehicle on North Wells Avenue. The victim had just evicted the suspect for trespassing when the suspect took control of the victim’s vehicle and struck the victim with it. The victim sustained non life-threatening injuries. The suspect has been identified but is still outstanding.

December 24

— There was a residential burglary on Broadway. The victims returned home to find their home broken into and property stolen. There are no suspects at this time.

December 25

— Officers responded to a report that an employee at the Panda House Restaurant had been threatened by a knife-wielding suspect while taking out the garbage. The victim told deputies the suspect demanded money several times before leaving on foot. Deputies quickly spotted the suspect in the area of Sun Valley Boulevard and 2nd Street, arresting 18-year-old David Calderon. A second suspect, 24-year-old Jose Martinez was also arrested for interfering with an investigation. Read the rest of the release here.

— Vernon Willoughby was arrested on charges of battery/trespassing/ADW/sledgehammer on Harbin. The suspect was escorted off the property for being belligerent but returned a while later. Willoughby attempted to strike the victim with a sledgehammer during a physical altercation.

— Canseco Ichiro was arrested on charges of harassment O&R with a deadly weapon on East Peckham. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a subject armed with knives. They located the suspect, who refused to cooperate and advanced toward the officers wielding a knife.

— Officers responded to an ADW/shots fired on Mira Loma. They located several casings, but there were no reported injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
