New Year’s Eve Safe Ride: RTC transit free

The New Year’s Eve free Safe RIDE program brings together community partners to cover the cost of providing free transit service. All RTC transit services will be free on New Year’s Eve night starting at 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

Safe RIDE partners include: Renown Health, the Northern Nevada DUI Task Force, KOLO 8, Wood Rodgers, Inc., Club Cal Neva, REMSA, Morrey Distributing, Reno Firefighters Local 731, the RSCVA and Reno News & Review.

The RTC is also producing thirty video testimonials to celebrate the milestone year with information on the benefits of the New Year’s Eve FREE Safe RIDE program. They may be viewed by following RTC on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Miriam Hodgman is originally from San Francisco. She previously was the communications coordinator for the largest hunger-relief organization in Sonoma County, California. She has a bachelor’s degree in American history, with a minor in American Indian studies, from San Francisco State University, and has a master’s degree in public administration from Sonoma State University. She enjoys training a variety of martial arts.
