Date:

tir-small-1284883-1284791Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District will celebrate the opening of a new fire station in the Mogul area Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. The fire station serves the community of Mogul and surrounding areas and is an integral part of the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District response system.

Fire Chief Charlie Moore says, “The new Mogul fire station replaces a dilapidated structure that was in critical need of replacement. We were fortunate to find this perfect parcel of land that enabled us to balance response time objectives to all areas served by this new facility.”

The former #35 fire station was relocated to the Mogul area to better serve the residents of Caughlin Ranch. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District includes 11 career fire stations, 13 volunteer fire stations and more than 225 firefighters that work cooperatively to provide service to its constituents.

**Please note: Due to limited parking at the site, TMFPD will offer ongoing shuttle service from Abel’s Authentic Mexican Cuisine at 2905 US 40 in Verdi before and during the event.
