181246_10151044987546948_812499001_nHOT AUGUST NIGHTS NEWS RELEASE – The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino acts as the intersection of major events and activities during this year’s “Hot August Nights” festival, July 28 through August 2. The resort launches one of the country’s largest classic car events Monday, July 28 at 4 p.m. with the “Hot August Nights” official kick-off party followed by a week of free concerts, Show ‘n’ Shines, cash drawings and more beginning each day at noon.

The Peppermill gets the annual “Hot August Nights” event started with its official kick-off party Monday, July 28 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Mill Mile Show ‘n’ Shine gives spectators a first look at some of the event’s finest specimens during its property-wide cruise, complemented by music from DJ Axle and other specialty classic cars on display. A free outdoor concert from Beatles Flashback entertains audiences from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. while Parking Lot Roulette awards prizes to the crowd from 8 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. The kick-off party is topped off by a cash drawing in the Casino Lounge at 10 p.m. where the first Mill Mile Show ‘n’ Shine finalist award is given out. Five finalists are selected each night until August 2, when daily winners then compete for a $3,000 grand prize.

The festivities get started at noon Tuesday, and run through Saturday, with specialty cars on display and music throughout the venue. Each day’s cruise begins at 5 p.m. The Show-n-Shine judging take place each day from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A free concert takes the stage each evening from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. with Dusty Miles & the Cryin’ Shame performing its self-described Hillbilly Rock ‘n’ Roll Tuesday night. Celebrated a capella group known for its impressive performances on The Sing Off, Street Corner Renaissance, joins the Cryin’ Shame Wednesday and Thursday. Friday night the Renaissance continues to rock the stage. The Bluzman join the festivities Saturday night, bringing a tribute to the famed Blues Brothers to “Hot August Nights.”

In addition to a week full of hot rods and hot performances, casino players have a chance at a share of $35,000 by earning virtual drawing tickets and depositing the tickets at any Super Kiosk.  Twenty players are set to win a share of $35,000 in cash Monday through Friday, and on Saturday, 40 players receive cash prizes.

The Jelly Belly Dragster also makes a coveted appearance each night, Thursday through Saturday, giving fans an up-close-and-personal look at the custom race car and handing out free samples of the delicious treats. The “monstrous machine” is just one member of the eight-vehicle Jelly Belly Fleet, which also includes a biplane, a rocket-powered stage coach, motorcycles and a wheel-stander fire truck.
