RENO, Nev. – The Nevada football team’s second game of the season, against Pac-12 foe Washington State, has been moved up a day to Friday, Sept. 5 and will be broadcast to a national TV audience on ESPN or ESPN2.
The move was part of the Mountain West Conference’s initial release of its national television games today with subsequent television broadcast information available in the coming weeks. According to the league, it is anticipated that all remaining MW-controlled games in the 2014 schedule will be played on Saturdays.
“We’re excited to play on a Friday night against a quality opponent and I think it will be an electric atmosphere in Mackay Stadium for that game,” second-year coach Brian Polian said.
The Wolf Pack’s game against the Cougars will kick at 7:30 p.m.
Today’s announcement only includes those 11 games that will be moved to Fridays this season to accommodate ESPN networks and CBS Sports Network. Between the two television partners, up to 48 football games will be televised this year on their various national platforms.
Additional broadcasts by CBS Sports Network, ESPN networks, ROOT SPORTS and the Mountain West Network powered by Campus Insiders will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Nevada ticket office has also announced the public on-sale of football season tickets. All seats, including any un-renewed premium seats are now on sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
