COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada senior guard Deonte Burton has been named Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, Jan. 12. It is the third career MW weekly accolade for Burton.

·         Averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while leading Nevada to a 2-0 record in Conference play last week.
·         For the week, shot 58.6 percent (17-of-29) from the field, including 3-of-7 (.429) from three-point range, while committing just two turnovers to finish with a 4.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.
·         In a Jan. 8 road win at in-state rival UNLV, he scored a game-high 29 points as the Pack won 74-71 to snap an eight-game losing skid to the Runnin’ Rebels.
·         With Nevada trailing by 11 (34-23) with 3:16 to play in the first half, Burton scored seven points during an 11-2 run to pull the Wolf Pack to within two at the break.
·         Added five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block while converting a career-high 12 field goals on 20 attempts, including 2-of-4 three-pointers.
·         In Saturday’s home victory over Utah State he scored 14 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out five assists and had five steals in the 62-54 triumph.
·         Connected on 5-of-9 shots from the field with one three-pointer against the Aggies.
