Date:

twitter-bird-light-bgs-9436261-7827282The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District has started a Twitter account at @TMFPD. It will offer Washoe County citizens an additional way to communicate important information about fire prevention and emergency situations.

“Keeping the public informed of ways to keep themselves and their community safe is a top priority for the TMFPD,” said Chief Charles Moore. “Twitter gives us the ability to provide important information to the citizens of Washoe County quickly, so we’ll have yet another way to provide public safety messages and promotional events that benefit the public, as well as provide real time information when there is a significant incident in our area.”

Information on the new @TMFPD Twitter feed will include:

  • fire prevention and public safety information
  • road closures
  • special events
  • weather emergencies
  • major ongoing events in the TMFPD jurisdiction that affect the entire community

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District can be followed on Twitter at @tmfpd or for more information, contact Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District at (775) 326-6000.
