Patients and friends of Pitts Orthodontics and Brosy Family Dentistry were encouraged to bring in unopened Halloween candy to be shipped to the troops through the annual program. The dental practices paid one dollar for each pound of candy.

“This is the first year Pitts Orthodontics, Brosy Family Dentistry and ITS logistics have participated in Operation Gratitude’s annual Halloween Candy Buy Back program,” said Dr. Mark Handelin of Pitts Orthodontics. “We were amazed at how much candy the community donated to the troops.”

“This program is a great way for us to support our troops and for our patients and friends to give back as well,” said Dr. Arnie Pitts of Pitts Orthodontics.

Each year Operation Gratitude sends more than 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment and hygiene items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to U.S. service members deployed throughout the world.

ITS Logistics of Reno donated the delivery of 24 boxes of candy, letters of gratitude and a box of toothbrushes totaling 700 pounds.
