Boys & Girls Club celebrates 37th Annual Awards Banquet with “Dr. Seuss” themed evening – honors local attorney Leo Bergin

leo-bergin_1-200x300-4764541-9603174BOYS & GIRLS CLUB NEWS RELEASE – The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows recognizes the best in volunteerism and community support at this year’s “Dr. Seuss” themed 37th Annual Awards Banquet presented by Hot August Nights Foundation, Thursday, November 7 at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. Cocktail service begins at 5:00 p.m. followed by dinner and program at 6:00 p.m.

The 37th Annual Awards Banquet honors Leo Bergin, partner, McDonald Carano Wilson LLP, with the 2013 Distinguished Service award and also includes a program featuring Club members in a variety of performances that take the stage throughout the evening.

The night also honors children who make a difference in the lives of friends and peers by living the Club’s mission each day, leading by example and helping others. Nine members from the Club’s youth and teen centers are set to receive a Member of the Year award, saluting his or her service and guidance among the Club’s 11,000 members. Also honored are the 2013 Male and Female Youth of the Year, Eva Hernandez and Jevin Daugherty, in addition to the Jack T. Reviglio and other scholarship recipients.

“The Awards Banquet is a special time of the year for the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows as we honor those that provide tremendous support and leadership,” said Mike Wurm, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. “It’s our time to highlight Club members and thank those who strive to be a positive influence in the lives of children and we are very excited for this year’s “Dr. Seuss” themed event.”

The 37th Annual Awards Banquet presented by Hot August Nights Foundation includes hosted cocktails from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner and awards. The Cat in the Hat sponsorship is available for $1,300 and includes a 10-person table and full-page program ad, while the $1,200 Horton Hears a Who sponsor receives a 10-person table and half-page program ad. Ten-person tables are available for $1,000 and individual tickets are $100 per person.
