New DJ comes to UNR’s Wolf Pack radio

Date:

photo-180x300-6656396-3204781We have a new radio DJ on campus at the University of Nevada. Premiering last week with his radio show “Back to the Future” on Wolf Pack radio, Cortland Hill is sure to attract a large group of new listeners to his radio show.

The light humor on the radio show is sure to bring in new listeners. When asked what made him want to be a radio personality for the show, Hill said “While growing up, I always watched Martin. It’s my favorite show, and on his show he was a radio DJ. He was my comedic inspiration and it always looked like fun.”

Setting him apart from the other DJs on Wolf Pack radio is the entire new crowd that he is bringing to the table with old and new school hip hop and R&B hits. Listeners get to hear the music that they want to hear by calling in and making requests every Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Promoting the events of the various campus organizations and clubs is another positive of the radio station, something that has not been featured on Wolf Pack radio before. Hill describes what he’s doing as “making a right turn instead of just going straight the entire time” by helping out the other clubs and organizations with campus exposure. Using the opportunity that Wolf Pack radio has given him, he is doing pretty well.

“‘Back to the Future’ with Cortland Hill is on Wolf Pack radio every Monday from 11:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. The station is on 1700 AM radio, wolfpackradio.org, or download the Wolf Pack radio app in the Google Play market or Apple Store.

Kendra Fleming
My name is Kendra Fleming. I am 20 years old and currently a junior at University of Nevada, Reno with a major in English Literature and a minor in Cultural Anthropology. I love volleyball, soccer, hanging out with friends and warm weather. Born in California and raised in Las Vegas, I have always wanted to have a career that’s involved in the area of English, but I was never sure what until my sophomore year in college. I am an English literature major with the hopes of becoming an editor after college, but for now I am working on my writing. To be a great editor, I need to be a good writer as well. I can only get better with more practice outside of my scholarly studies.
