Sheriff’s Office continues investigation of suspicious death in south Reno

washoe_county_sheriffs_office_log-8454051-7305316Detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations and Investigations Division continue to investigate a suspicious death that occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, in the area of Wedge Parkway and Mt. Rose Highway in south Reno.

The Sheriff’s Office has confirmed with the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office that a formal identification and next of kin notification has been completed on the deceased who has been identified as Kurtis Hansen, age 22, of Reno.

At this time, the cause of death has not been determined by the County Medical Examiner’s Office and is pending further examination.

Since the cause of death is still undetermined, it is important that detectives receive as much information as possible about where the decedent was and what he was doing on the day of his death. Sheriff’s Detectives are interested in speaking to anyone that had contact with Hansen on Saturday, July 27, or Sunday, July 28.
