Frida Kahlo: Her photos and extraordinary life have been hidden from public view. These images reveal a little-known side of the artist whose iconic biographical paintings earned her international renown.

Reno photographer Megan Berner creates the character of Frida Kahlo through Chautauqua performance and interpretation of Kahlo’s photographs. $10 / FREE for MEMBERS. Funded in part by Nevada Humanities.

ART BITE Meet the Artist: Laurie Brown on Photographing Las Vegas Periphery, Views from the Edge

Friday, September 20 / noon

Laurie Brown discusses her photography that documents the edges and peripheries of landscapes surrounding Las Vegas, Nevada. $10 / FREE for MEMBERS. Funded in part by Nevada Humanities.

In collaboration with the Artemisia Film Society and Nevada Humanities, the Museum is pleased to present The Global Film Initiative’s Global Lens 2013 film series of ten feature documentaries in late summer and fall 2013. The Global Lens film series was launched in 2003 to support the distribution of unique and critically acclaimed cinematic works from around the world.
