VIDEO: Octane Fest back in Fallon this weekend

Date:

FALLON — Churchill County will host three days of high-powered motorsports action, including drag car racing, during the 2013 Octane Fest, June 7-9.

The event heats up as NHRA Lucas Oil Series Drag Racing opens up each day at Top Gun Raceway June 7-9. The aggressive IMCA Modifieds Show and Northern Nevada Outlaw Karts tear up the dirt track at Rattlesnake Raceway on June 7-8.

The main event features a Monster Truck Jamboree and a first time ever Nevada vs. California jaw-dropping, double take-off ramp, freestyle motocross jump show. X Games medalists Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Kenny Bell, and Matt Buyten headline the freestyle jump competition on June 8 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds.

“Octane Fest this year is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats,” Rick Gray, executive director of the Fallon Convention & Tourism Authority, said. “Fans have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with many of the cars and drivers at almost all of the events. And there will be a surprise at the end of Monster Truck Jamboree to close the show that you will want to stay for. It will blow you away!”

Tickets for the Monster Truck Jamboree are now available at O’Reilly Auto Parts Stores and include access to an exclusive Pit Party where ticketholders can meet the driver, take photos and get autographs. Between events on Saturday enjoy music, raffles, a poker walk and valve cover races for free at the Maine St. Rumble Car Show and Miss Octane Fest contest on Maine St. in downtown Fallon.

Tickets to the IMCA Modifieds/Outlaw Karts show at Rattlesnake Raceway and the Lucas Oil Series NHRA Drags at Top Gun Raceway are available at their respective gates. Tickets start at $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-14.
Founded in 2008, Octane Fest is famous for bringing corner drifting, roaring engines and a plethora of speed to the rural raceways.

The Fallon Convention & Tourism Authority is delighted to present the event for the sixth year, along with Rattlesnake Raceway, Top Gun Raceway, and Patrick Media.
