Truckee River Trail revitalized for cyclists and pedestrians

Date:

logoTAHOE-PYRAMID BIKEWAY NEWS RELEASE — The City of Reno Parks division contracted SNC Construction to remove and replace approximately 600 linear feet of deteriorated asphalt along the Truckee River. The project includes the pathway trail adjacent to the National Automobile Museum, which extends from west Lake Street to east Museum Drive. The work is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, weather permitting. Detours will be in place to direct bicycles and pedestrians around the National Automobile Museum using Mill Street.

Funding for this project was augmented by a $5,000 donation from the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway organization. For further information, please contact the City of Reno Parks Maintenance Office at 775-334-2270.

The Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway is a vision of establishing a useable route that follows the Truckee River by foot or bicycle from its source at forested Lake Tahoe to its desert terminus, Pyramid Lake. The route is to descend over 2000 feet in 116 miles, using a combination of existing dirt and paved roads, plus some sections of new trail and bridges.
