NNMC NEWS RELEASE

image001-300x41-6246168-1045340The Inpatient RehabCenter at Northern Nevada Medical Center has been recognized with Uniform Data System’s “2013 Top Performer Award.” The program is among the top 10 percent of acute rehabilitation facilities of their nearly 800 facilities in the 2013 PEM rankings based on 2012 data.

UDS is a widely used system for documenting the severity of patient disability and outcomes for medical rehabilitation facilities throughout the nation. NNMC’s Acute RehabCenter ranked in the top 10 percent for outcomes related to patient’s overall function progress, in self care and mobility, length of stay efficiency and discharge to community.

“We’re honored,” said Lita McCaw, OTR/L, director in-patient rehabilitation and therapy services. “It’s a privilege to be able to provide an important and successful service for our patients. These results are a sign of the dedication the staff and the patients have invested into healing.”

The Inpatient RehabCenter is an eight-bed unit located on the 6th floor of NNMC and offers convenient access to onsite hospital services. It is the only local facility to feature all-private patient rooms and all one-on-one therapy, giving patients more personalized care and attention than other larger facilities provide.

The unit also features a daily living activity area and therapy gym, all located on one floor. NNMC offers advanced treatment and care for many conditions such as stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple trauma, spinal cord and back injuries.
