The Wildflower Village Gallery in Reno, Nevada, has housed local artists for over a decade. Now, under the management of Shelly Jackson and local artisan guild Indie Reno, the former motel is getting a modern makeover. Six rooms are now open and showcase local artists and craftsmen offering original art and gifts for every style home and all occasions.

The Indie Reno Open House weekend at Wildflower Village Gallery (4335 W. Fourth Street) is schedule for March 15 (10 a.m.-7 p.m.) and 16 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) featuring:

• Door Prizes

• Artists Meet and Greet

• Refreshments

• Baked Goods Sale for A Blind Journey

• Featured Artist Reception, Norma Gonzales, Friday 5 – 7 p.m.

• Henna Blessings with Kim Allcock, Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

• Aversion Therapy, Acoustic Music, Saturday 1 – 3 p.m.

Workshops and demonstrations begin this month with classes in everything from glass and clay work to silk painting. The cozy foyer invites you to meet your friends for tea or coffee or a place to host your book club.

The workroom in the back is available for booking and perfect for private classes, homeschooling groups, and carving out a time and place to work on your own special projects. Artists will frequently be demonstrating their craft, signing pieces, and chatting freely with visitors.

Check Indie Reno’s Calendar of Events at www.indiereno.org to see what is coming up, and contact Shelly at [email protected] to talk about private shopping, classes, or art placement. Indie Reno Boutique at the Wildflower is open now, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 to 6 and by appointment.
