Cowboy humorist Baxter Black to perform May 2 at Carson Valley Inn

Baxter Black, America’s premier cowboy humorist, will perform at 7 p.m. May 2 in the Valley Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn, U.S. 395 in Minden. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for this event, which kicks off the 2013 Genoa Cowboy Festival.

Tickets for the Baxter Black concert cost $30 and are available at the Carson Valley Inn Hotel Desk or by phone. A special overnight package is available for May 2 including a hotel room for the night plus two Baxter Black show tickets for $119 per couple (plus tax). In keeping with the Cowboy Festival theme, Sourdough Slim will perform a free show with Robert Armstrong in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret Lounge after Baxter’s show in the Valley Ballroom.

The Carson Valley Inn (www.carsonvalleyinn.com) is on U.S. 395 in Minden near the start of state Route 88, twenty minutes from Lake Tahoe’s south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno.  The property includes a casino, sports and race book, 150-room hotel, 74-room motor lodge, 59-site RV park and a convenience store with Shell gas and diesel fuel.  There are also banquet and meeting rooms and services plus three dining facilities: CV Steak, the Inn’s Nevada-style steakhouse featuring steaks, seafood, pasta dishes and more; Katie’s, for 24- hour dining choices; and Job’s Perk for coffee drinks, pastries and sundries.
