Ralston presents at WIN breakfast meeting Jan. 18

Jon Ralston, host of “Ralston Reports,” a political discussion program, will be the keynote speaker at this month’s WIN Breakfast meeting held on Friday, January 18 at 7 a.m. in the Capri Ballroom at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. Sponsored by KUNR, the popular networking breakfast event will feature Ralston presenting “The 2012 Election Results and the 2013 Legislative Session.”

Ralston is a long-time Nevada political reporter, freelance columnist, guest commentator and host of “Face to Face”, a political discussion program broadcast live at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on KVBC Channel 3 Las Vegas, KRNV Channel 4 Reno and KENV Channel 10 Elko. Ralston also authors weekly columns in the Las Vegas Sun. In addition to print media, he is a frequent guest commentator on Las Vegas’ CBS affiliate, Channel 8.

In his early career, Ralston wrote for the Las Vegas Review-Journal for 15 years, the last seven as a freelance columnist. In 1999, the Greenspun Media Group purchased his political newsletter “The Ralston Report”. Ralston currently publishes “The Ralston Report” on-line via RalstonFlash.com, a daily e-mail newsletter containing insider political and business information.

Awards garnered by Ralston include: Nevada State Press Association’s Outstanding Young Journalist of the Year in 1986, Best Columnist of the Year in 1991 and 1992 and Best Non-Staff Columnist in 2000, 2001 and 2003. In 1996, Ralston was named one of Clark County’s “Top 40 Under 40” by the Las Vegas Business Press. In 2000, Ralston was named as an Influential Businessman in southern Nevada by In Business Las Vegas.

Ralston hails from Buffalo, N.Y. and holds a B.A. in English from Cornell University and a M.A. in journalism from University of Michigan.
