Downtown Reno’s New Year’s Eve Celebration

Date:

On Monday, downtown Reno will be filled with residents and visitors ringing in the New Year while patronizing downtown businesses.
The New Year’s Eve celebration and fireworks display is being hosted by the downtown casino properties. The City of Reno is sponsoring the celebration by providing in-kind city services such as police and public works.

For the celebration, beginning at 8:00 p.m., North Virginia Street will be closed from First Street to Fourth Street. The street will re-open once all festivity clean-up is complete.

For fiscal year 2012-2013, the Reno City Council outlined Arts, Culture and Special Events as one of their priorities. Annual priorities are established as short-term goals and are intended to enable the City to attain long-term goals and achieve the Council’s vision for the City. The City of Reno encourages community events that add quality of life for our residents and visitors. The City of Reno strives to protect and add both regional and local special events which will grow the current tourism base and attract new visitors.
