Washoe County Clerk’s Office Moves to Ninth Street October 5

Date:

The Clerk’s Office will move to the Washoe County Administration Complex at 1001 East 9th Street, Reno, NV on October 5, 2012.

“We are excited about our new location for many reasons,” said Amy Harvey, Washoe County Clerk. “After over 150 years in the Historic Washoe County Courthouse we are saddened to leave, however, customers will be able to more easily access our office since it is located just one block off of Interstate 80 where parking is free and plentiful.”

County Clerk services affected by the move include marriage licenses, fictitious firm name (dba) and notary bond filings, board records and minutes, Washoe County Code, minister authorizations to perform marriages, proof of life attestations for foreign citizens residing in the U.S., and oaths of office.

The County Complex currently includes offices for the County Commissioners, Recorder, Assessor, Treasurer, Registrar of Voters and the Business Licenses and Health Department just to name a few, and the Clerk’s move to the County Complex will create more of a “one-stop” shopping experience for citizens and visitors to Washoe County.

“Since the County Clerk’s Marriage License Bureau is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and the operations will now be centered in one location, people can utilize the Clerk’s services any time during those hours,” said Harvey. “With offices in the County Complex we expect that we will be partnering with other County agencies and departments to offer their services and/or help facilitate transactions on their behalf as well.” For more information about the Clerk’s Office and services, please visit: http://www.washoecounty.us/clerks/.
