HARRY REID NEWS RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C.- Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced a $917,800 grant for the Regional Transportation Commission in the Reno, Sparks and Washoe County metropolitan area to upgrade its communication capabilities.
The grant will enable RTC to replace outdated radio equipment by purchasing a digital radio system for its fixed route and paratransit systems. The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s State of Good Repair Program.
“Improving public transportation will help to strengthen communities in Northern Nevada,” said Reid. “I am pleased that the RTC in Washoe County will be able to use this grant to upgrade its communication systems to better serve its ridership. I will continue to work to modernize Nevada transit services.”
