Sheriff’s detectives investigate suspicious death in Cold Springs area

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations and Investigations Division is currently conducting a criminal investigation into the suspicious death of a white male adult that occurred yesterday at approximately 5:12 p.m. in the 17300 block of Bear Lake Drive in the Cold Springs area.

As part of this investigation, a male canine has been quarantined in a safe and healthy environment in accordance with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.

Due to this being an ongoing criminal investigation, no further details will be released at this time. The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently in the process of conducting a formal identification and next of kin notification.  Cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office as well.  Additional information will be released as the investigation unfolds.
