Basin Street Properties, a prominent Northern Nevada and Northern California real estate investor of commercial and mixed-use properties, has announced the promotion of Julie Wallick to the post of company Controller. In addition to more than 15 years of accounting experience, Wallick’s strong leadership skills will enhance internal communications and elevate the level of external reporting to its valued investment partners.
Wallick, based in the Reno corporate headquarters, will now be responsible for all the monetary matters for the company’s portfolio, including oversight of all portfolio accountants. Basin Street Properties’ diverse Northern Nevada portfolio includes three Class A office buildings in downtown Reno, an office submarket that experienced a dramatic resurgence of businesses over the past year. In addition, the uniquely positioned Mill @McCarran Office/Flex development and Coliseum Meadows, a retail center located in the heart of Reno’s retail activity, are a part of its impressive list of properties.
Wallick joined Basin Street Properties as a portfolio accountant in September 2010. Prior positions included Director of Accounting for Las Vegas-based Triple Five Nevada Development as well as Accounting and Business Manager for the Las Vegas office of Massachusetts Mutual Financial Agency. Earlier in her career Wallick had an opportunity to exhibit her entrepreneurial skills as an integral part of a very successful start-up, Quad Graphics, for which she set-up and managed all accounting procedures and processes.
A native of Chicago, IL, Wallick attended Prairie State College (Chicago Heights, IL) and Weber State College (Ogden, UT). As a very engaged and involved member of our community, she spends many hours volunteering for several local non-profits.
