TMCC hosts Spring Architecture Exhibit to display students’ projects

WHAT:                 TMCC architecture students will host a four-day Spring Architecture Exhibit to showcase completed projects. First-year students have the opportunity to develop and construct architectural designs based on the increasing need for adaptable architecture and flexibility in design. After constructing their concepts, students will then live in their self-designed habitats throughout the evening. Second-year architecture students will be presenting an Architectural/Landscape Urbanism project focusing on redevelopment concerns, possibilities and potentials for downtown Reno, Nev. Design and Climate class students will be showing final architectural projects of basic climate design principles including site analysis, passive solar design, active solar design, day lighting and green building systems through design applications and case studies. WHO:                   First and second year TMCC architecture students, professors and local architecture professionals.

 

WHERE:               Truckee Meadows Community College, Dandini Campus

Exhibits will be on display at the V. James Eardley Student Center

                               

WHEN:                Sunday, May 6 through Thursday, May 10

  • Sunday, May 6: Students will design and build habitats in the lot just east of the Dandini parking lot.
  • Monday, May 7: Students present designs to local architects.
  • Wednesday, May 9: Projects will be displayed in the V. James Eardley Student Center.
  • Thursday, May 10: Exhibits will be on display in the V. James Eardley Student Center from 4 to 8 p.m.
