CITY OF RENO NEWS RELEASE
The City of Reno will be hosting an open house meeting on May 10 to discuss the aesthetic concepts being considered for the Virginia Street Bridge Replacement Project.
The open house will be held at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center located at 925 Riverside Drive from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The meeting will provide the public the opportunity to get involved, provide input and learn about the process of the current replacement project. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to stop by anytime during the meeting.
After more than a century of use, the Virginia Street Bridge is showing signs of extreme wear and must be replaced to ensure continued public safety. The City of Reno, in partnership with the Truckee River Flood Management Authority, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have initiated a plan to replace the bridge while respectfully preserving its distinguished history.
