GNCU NEWS RELEASE

CARSON CITY — Although May is International Internal Audit Awareness month, a state proclamation emphasizes the importance and value the internal audit function contributes to local organizations. As a member of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the IIA, Yette Martell-De Luca, Greater Nevada Credit Union’s audit and compliance manager, worked with the governor’s office to draft and finalize Nevada’s proclamation.

An official reading by Jeff Mohlenkamp, director of the Department of Administration for the State of Nevada, takes place May 24 at 8:30 a.m. at the governor’s mansion in Carson City.

In addition, Martell-De Luca was selected to attend the Institute of Internal Audit’s 2012 Leadership Academy, attended by leaders worldwide, as a Northern Nevada Chapter representative.

“It was an honor to work with the governor’s office, and then attend the conference to meet with other audit professionals from companies such as FedEx Services Inc, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, State Farm Insurance, as well as other credit unions, including The Golden1 and Redwood,” said Martell-De Luca.

Greater Nevada Credit Union has served Nevada consumers since 1949 and is northern Nevada’s largest credit union. For more information, visit www.gncu.org.
