SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The Cal-Neva Extreme Rock Crawling competition will start the 2012 crawling series with Round 1 at the Giant’s Throne, Exit 28 just outside Reno NV, May 19-20. Presented by Yukon Gear & Axle, Cal-Neva Extreme is a 4-Round natural terrain competitive rock crawling series that delivers an action packed weekend with over 120 courses run each day, all open to the public.

Cal-NEVA hosts several rock biting teams, coming from as far away as Canada and across the U.S., and features national unlimited class top contenders. There are 5 different classes that make up the Cal-Neva Extreme line up. Vehicles ranging from a modified 4×4 trail rig to the most extreme competition rock crawlers to date compete in this crowd-pleasing venue.

As rock crawling evolves, so does Cal-Neva. The Super Mod class was originally designed for the big trail rigs that didn’t fit in Pro Mod or Unlimited. This year this class has grown with the addition of full width rear steer (84″), -with a 7 point rear steer penalty. The Ultra 4, 4400 tech’d cars will be allowed to enter in the Super Mod Class. This includes mid engine and IFS cars to provide more team opportunities to compete.

In addition, this season Cal-Neva will be hosting the G6 RC Challenge. These are scale radio controlled vehicles that resemble fully equipped trail rigs that will be put through a series of challenges on special courses designed for them.

“We’re excited about the team line up and the RC Challenge this year; the competition between the teams will be fierce but still fun and filled with camaraderie,” said Cal-Neva President, Glenn Bonner. “The natural terrain courses are some of most challenging in the area which will make the teams work hard and make spectator viewing really exciting.” Glenn adds.
