More than 15 Reno area thespians, triple threat performers and solo acts will take to the stage at Cargo @ CommRow to strut their stuff and share their swiggle during the inaugural “Spotlight on Talent” to benefit the performing arts efforts of Sierra School of Performing Arts.
The talent show takes place Sunday, April 29. Doors open at 5 p.m.; the show starts at 6 p.m. CommRow is in downtown Reno at 255 N. Virginia St., near the Reno Arch.
Local songstress CeCe Gable will emcee the event and will perform two jazz numbers. Broadway hits “For Good” from “Wicked” will be performed by Cindy Sabatini and Anna Scarborough and “When You’re Good to Mamma” from “Chicago” will be performed by Carla Wilson. Other talented performers include Steven Murdoch (showcasing a Neopolitan aria) , Baylee Parkin (pianist and singer) and singers Malea Hoffman-Gerard, Julie Curtis, Emily Hammer and Dan Robbins. Acts are appropriate for all ages.
Tickets are $20. Spotlight on Talent features select silent auction items such as a four-day/three-night Lake Tahoe retreat, Nevada Opera tickets, luxury spa packages, hand-crafted jewelry, performing arts classes and fine dining certificates. A no-host bar will be available.
Sierra School of Performing Arts is a Nevada-based 501C(3) organization led by volunteers whose mission is to bring the performing arts to all through productions, camps and workshops. Donations are tax-free as permissible by law.
