The University of Nevada, Reno is featuring the following events this week:

Journalism Week 2012, “News that clicks” – Tuesday, March 27 – Thursday, March 29
Various times and locations on campus
The Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism is holding its annual Journalism Week, March 27-29, with the program titled “News that clicks.” The week features presentations on journalism ethics, sports writing and visual communication. The Frank McCulloch Courage in Journalism Award also will be presented. All events are free and open to the public, except for the Scripps Dinner, which is by invitation only.

March 27, noon-1 p.m.: Covering the Penn State Scandal; Patriot-News reporter and Fred W. Smith Ethics Speaker Sarah Ganim will appear via videoconference.
March 27, 3-4 p.m.: Future of Local News with Sacramento Press reporter Ben Ilfeld
March 28, 9:30-10:30 a.m.:  ESPN”s Wright Thompson talks with students
March 28, 10:45-11:30 a.m.: ESPN’s Wright Thompson talks with sports reporters
March 28, 6 p.m.: 48th Annual Scripps Dinner and Lecture with Wright Thompson
March 29, 1-2 p.m.: Pictures of the Year International Showcases Winning Images
March 29, 3-4 p.m.: Frank McCulloch Courage in Journalism Award recipient and LA Times photojournalist Barbara Davidson

Cesar Chavez Celebration – Friday, March 30
Noon-2:45 p.m., Joe Crowley Student Union Theatre, Third Floor
Students, staff and faculty members of the University of Nevada, Reno will gather to learn more about Cesar Chavez and his fight for equality by watching the film The Fight in the Fields: Cesar Chavez & the Farm Workers’ Struggle. Free popcorn will be provided.

Reno Film Festival’s Oscar Shorts – Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31
7-10:30 p.m., Joe Crowley Student Union Theatre, Third Floor
The Reno Film Festival presents the 2012 Oscar-winning and nominated Animated and Live Action short films at two screenings, presented in partnership with Shorts International and Magnolia Pictures. General admission tickets are $10, and student tickets are $5, available in advance atwww.renofilmfestival.com or at the door.

2012 Western Nevada Regional Science & Engineering Fair – Thursday, March 29 through Saturday March 31
All activities take place at Lawlor Events Center
Public Hours: Friday, March 30, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, March 31, 9 a.m.-noon
Awards Ceremony: Friday, March 30, 6:30 p.m.
Last year’s Western Nevada Regional Science & Engineering Fair brought in more than 1,000 projects and inventions exhibited at Lawlor Events Center. Participants came from 12 Nevada counties, from more than100 different public, private, charter and parochial elementary, middle and high schools. More than 20,000 students participate in local, school and county fairs to reach the regional fair, providing an exciting experience for both the students and teachers who participate.

Mackay Service Day – Saturday, March 31
9 a.m.-4 p.m., Neighborhoods around campus
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada, Reno are offering their services during a Mackay Service Day to help beautify the neighborhoods around campus. They will be helping with tasks such as raking leaves, trimming trees, washing windows, outdoor painting or hauling away unwanted furniture. Snacks will be provided for all volunteers.
