Renown only healthcare network in Nevada to make nation’s top 100 list

Date:

RENOWN NEWS RELEASE

Renown Health has earned recognition as a Top 100 Integrated Health Network (IHN) for the ninth year in a row. More than 570 non-specialty, local and regional healthcare networks were surveyed for the 2012 ranking based on each network’s ability to operate as a unified organization for the patient’s benefit in each of eight categories: integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization and physicians.

Renown Health is the only Nevada health network to earn a place on this national Top 100 list and shares this achievement with other quality organizations like Intermountain Health Care, Scripps Health and University Hospitals in Cleveland.

“Integrated healthcare networks provide a full spectrum of premier quality care ranging from wellness programs to primary and specialty care, as well as long-term care and insurance,” said Jim Miller, Renown Health president and chief executive officer. “Our integrated health network allows patients to seamlessly access a vast array of services, facilities and doctors leading to improved experiences, better outcomes and reduced costs.”

IMS, the coordinator of the ranking, is the leading provider of information services for the healthcare industry, covering markets in 100+ countries around the world.  Each year, “Modern Healthcare” publishes IMS’s annual report and is the nation’s premier rating system for IHNs on their performance and degree of integration that sets the stage for success under healthcare reform.

“Another benefit of being an integrated healthcare network is that it prepares our organization for the future,” said Miller. “In anticipation of Medicare payment reform, many hospitals, physician groups, and health systems are forming Accountable Care Organizations, or ACOs.” Miller added, “Integrated healthcare organizations, such as ours, with an integrated network of services already in place, have a big head start in adapting to healthcare reform changes.”
